Psalm Fifteen: Who Shall Dwell on Your Holy Hill?
Psalm 15
Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
Who may live on your holy mountain?
The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person
but honors those who fear the Lord;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
and does not change their mind;
who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things
will never be shaken (NIV).

I don't know about you, but when I read that list, I know that I miss a lot of the things listed. My walk, a lot of days, is not blameless, I don't always speak truth from the heart, I have wronged a neighbor and friends. David says that whoever does the things he lists here, will never be shaken. However, this is the beauty of our life after the cross of Christ! Do you remember our Psalm from last week that talked about Christ holding our right hand? Look what David tells us in Psalm 37: "If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the LORD upholds him with his hand" (Psalm 37:23-24). We are held by the Lord. When we stumble, we have to place our eyes on Jesus and ask for his forgiveness. He will reach to us, forgive us our sins, and set us on the right path. The beautiful part is that when we keep our eyes on Jesus, read his Word, and keep his Word, we will find that it becomes easier to stay on his path and not stumble!
What stood out to you in this Psalm?
Are there things in this Psalm that you fail at sometimes?
